ABOUT
the story behind the studio

MEET SUSAN
Susan Stuart has been making art — and helping others make art — for as long as she can remember. Originally from England, she's called Chiang Mai home for the past 18 years, spending that time teaching art at international schools across the city, including Lanna International School.
In late 2023, she opened Art Havoc Studios — a space where creativity comes first and perfection isn't the point. Whether you're five or fifty-five, whether you've never picked up a brush or you paint every weekend, there's a place for you here.
Susan teaches everything from painting and watercolour to printmaking, collage, and mixed media. She loves working with all ages and believes the best part of teaching is watching someone surprise themselves with what they can create.
“Everyone can do art. You just have to start.”

THE STUDIO
Art Havoc Studios is tucked away in Chiang Mai — a creative space with grey walls that have seen plenty of paint splashes, a big communal table, warm lighting, and art hanging from every surface. It's a working studio, not a showroom.
Classes are small and relaxed. There's usually music playing, always something interesting on the table, and sometimes a glass of wine involved. The studio also hosts exhibitions, creative workshops, and community events.
WHY ART HAVOC?
what makes this place special
No Experience Needed
Whether it’s your first time or your hundredth, every class is designed so anyone can jump in and create something they’re proud of.
Small Groups, Big Fun
Classes are kept small so everyone gets attention, but the atmosphere is always social. It’s as much about the community as the creativity.
All Ages Welcome
From Saturday kids’ art club to adult evening sessions, Art Havoc is a space for everyone — no age limits, no skill requirements.
